HT is gettin' better and better with HS. It's amazing what they have done here, along with Bruce Wayne's HS as well.

I think the mark 4 sculpt was better though.

Iron Man in the Avengers movie has a Triangular chest light, not a round one? I see from the pic's there isn't one included? is this correct ?

I do see this at the bottom "**Prototype shown, final product may be slightly different" so maybe it will have?

I may upset some with these comments but I am really disappointed....

I have to admit I was looking forward to this figure from HT... got the black widow, got Loki, got batman dark knight rises, but I am contemplating this one being left out... come on every one.... the head sculpt is way out and not a patch on rob Downey JNR in the movie... if I do get this I think I will never use the Downey HS and possibly buy a early hs to replace it...

must admit i now think both captain america's beat this hands down

The RDJ heads are getting worse. I think the one from Mechtest is the best. Same with the 3 face plates for TDKR DX12 Batman.

The Iron Man suit he wears in the final battle, when Loki throws him out, has the round chest piece. The extremely rare Avengers Iron Man, which was release has the triangle chest piece. So in other words, he did wear both versions in the film.
As for the RdJ sculpt... I have to agree that the Mech-Test sculpt had the best likeness.

Here is an image of iron Man in the film with the Round chest piece...

Not the best sculpt on Downey's face, but looks good overall.

Re: Hot Toys MMS185 Avengers 1:6 Iron Man Mark VII

Downey head sculpt is just wrong but so were the last couple. The Mech Test version was the best and even that was off a bit.

The only things that bother me about this Iron Man are the fat round barrel chest and the big collar/shoulder things. I don't remember those features being so pronounced but maybe I need to see the film again.

Why don't these companies do laser facial scans, rather than relying entirely on sculptors?

There ain't NOTHING wrong with this figure. Color, proportions, sculpt, its all near perfect.. One of the few pieces that commands and deserves it's high ticket price tag. If you dig 1/6th figures its impossible to not want to get this. IRONMAN figures done by HOT TOYS are the height of craftsmanship, technology and art in today's market. Each ones a classic. Still waiting for them to do a WHIPLASH ARMOR from the second film..

The cream colored Cadillac-looking suit from Iron Man 3 is my favorite design so far.
That said, I still wouldn't shell out the money for it.

Re: Hot Toys MMS185 Avengers 1:6 Iron Man Mark VII

Mark 4's headsculpt is better and its body is wayyyyy slimmer. This Mark VII body armour is designed with Robert Downey Jr.'s over-weight problem in mind...I saw bunch of Iron Man III paparazzi photos of Robert suntanning with this family, and his out-of-shape body makes Iron Man looking like the Fatty Acid Man for the world to see....

Robert, u must consider Christian Bale as your role model for weight training, MAN UP!!!

Re: Hot Toys MMS185 Avengers 1:6 Iron Man Mark VII

Guess it is all a matter of preference. I don't want my iron man to be lean and mean, I want him to be a tank. I would much prefer a bulkier (not Mark 1 Bulky though) suit than a slim and trim suit. I agree the head sculpt looks off on this one, but I prefer this suit to the Mark 3 or 4.

I prefer the Mark 6 though since it has the triangle chest. For those who don't know, that was Joss Whedon. He hated the triangle chest and wanted to go back to the more traditional circle from the comics, so he specifically ordered that for the Mark 7.

there's a decade age-difference between these two guys and rdj has had some hard living. i'd cut the guy some slack.

also, i kind of rather prefer superheroes who are a little less than perfect.
