New Hot Toys 1:6 Dark Knight Rises "The Bat"
Hot Toys provides a clearer look at their largest 1:6th scale project to date: the new flying vehicle from The Dark Knight Rises, " The Bat". Fans will get a look at this cool ride in action when the movie opens in theaters July 20th. More details on the 1:6th scale vehicle to come...

How gigantic is this thing if that's a 12" Batman in the cockpit? I assume retail on this is $7-900. Add $150 for shipping!

If the 89 Batmobile costs $900, I would expect this to run $1200 at least.. Congratulations to those who can afford it cause that thing is freakin sweet!

Re: New Hot Toys 1:6 Dark Knight Rises "The Bat"
It looks AWESOME but can they really sell enough of these things at the price they will be to warrant production?? Where the hell would most people be able to put it?? You would need a celebs house off cribs to house this and a maid just to keep on top of dusting it!!

I think they just crossed the line of pragmatism. Between space and/or price this is jist not practical. Thbs up for ambition, but space and/or price will keep most away imo.

Exactly. I mean, it's awesome looking, and it'd be badass to have but the truth is, it's just not practicle. The fact that its SO big, also means it'll have a HUGE price tag as well. But one thing I am curious about, does anyone think it'll come with Batman? Similar to the way Stain came with Iron Monger(a built in figure so to speak)

89 is not $900. High price is just over $600. Nonetheless, this thing will probably be in the $1000 or more price like you said. Yeah, and add a couple hundred for shipping.
I just can't believe they're actually going to do it.

Re: New Hot Toys 1:6 Dark Knight Rises "The Bat"
You have to love the gall it takes to try and produce this thing but what is Hot Toys marketing smoking? It's also the design itself. This thing looks as practical and useful as a third nipple. Considering they are going for a real world look "The Bat" just does not fit. How is this thing supposed to fly? On the other hand it makes a scale X-Wing fighter seem like a possibility. Or maybe the Batwing from the 89 Batman? Or the alien armor from the end of District 9?

Re: New Hot Toys 1:6 Dark Knight Rises "The Bat"
I have a 1/6th scale (full scale-yes) M1 Abrams I built in my house and it doesn't even fit through the doorways of my house- even when I am carrying it sideways and vertically... this looks like it would just explode into a million pieces if it got dropped but looks just KILLER!! Limited edition and cost always work themselves out in the end- you are paying for the- not- so- available or random toy. Batmobiles for me!!

My mistake, I guess that was a rumor price and I never cared to investigate further..

So true!
And, I hear that the BATMOBILE orders won't ship until 2013! hehehe When do you get THIS thing? Still, very cool. If I ever win the lottery, I'll be getting the whole BATMAN collection...as the center piece of my new home.

Like I said in the other thread, I don't know how many people are going to have the room or cash for this, but I'm glad they've got the balls to do it hahaha.

Re: New Hot Toys 1:6 Dark Knight Rises "The Bat"
It's so difficult to find these bat-vehicles in a smaller scale. I always wanned a Tumbler, but HT's one is too big and expensive for me... The best Tumbler out there except for HT is one from Mattel, but it sucks, they got it all wrong. I'm so frustrated...

Re: New Hot Toys 1:6 Dark Knight Rises "The Bat"
I think Hot Wheels has a more accurate Tumbler but smaller than Mattel's. I'm a scale modeller, I'd rather build and paint Bat-vehicle replicas, that's why I'm waiting for Moebius Models 1:25 Batpod and Tumbler.

If you mean the one in 1:18 scale I agree. Best out there, but front wheels look HUGE! Alone it looks good, compared to HT it looks bad. Think I'll never be able to get a decent Tumbler, unless HT develops one in a smaller scale, which I doubt.
God, I need a TUMBLER!

If you buy it, make sure to pick it up personally. Imagine the way you'll receive it from the post office...

Possible Lights and Moving Parts
some snapshot photos from Hot Toys booth at the on-going Ani-Com in Hong Kong
seem to show
1. double front propellers to each side ROTATING
2. with blue light lit from inside .
ofcourse the motion could be an apparition from motion-blur while taking the photo
but other areas are crisp-sharp
and lights perhaps mere reflection from surrounding booths ..
can anyone who has been to the exhibition confirm this ?
ofcourse the eventual merchandise can be difference from this show prototype

Not a clue where i would put that at all. The size is going to be a real problem for folk buying this as nice as it is.

Yeah, there's video at Sideshowfreaks that shows the front turbines actually spinning, rather fast, and rear propellers turning, and there are multiple lights.
