BOT REVIEW: Soldier Story EODMU-11 U.S. Navy EOD Mobile Unit 11
BlackOpsToys.com reviewer - Michael Skram II - is back with yet another 1:6th scale figure review. This time it's Soldier Story EODMU-11 U.S. Navy EOD Mobile Unit 11 ( SS-055 )!
Quote:
Howdy figure fans, Mike here with the latest sixthscale action figure review. I would designate this as a modern era figure review ( referring to the figure itself, and not the era in which the review was composed and published ). But since all of my previous reviews have dealt with modern era subject matter, the distinction is not necessary. I am open to doing a review of a WWII era figure, or a movie tie in figure of a fictional nature – ala comic book and science fiction licenses – even pop culture stuff if anyone finally makes American Funboy figures. I mention this as I am hoping that Brian will decide to have me do a review of the upcoming InFlames Metal Gear Solid Snake figure – the one with armor…
Anyway, getting back on track… this time out we will take a look at the latest modern era military figure from the venerable and mega pop Soldier Story.

Re: BOT REVIEW: Soldier Story EODMU-11 U.S. Navy EOD Mobile Unit 11
Thank you, Sir for another Excellent review!!! Man, it feels like ages since i saw something "new" posted here on OSW... Got this figure and i loved it, maybe 'cause i'm a SS fanboy, but everything they've produced so far has great quality, i'm very pleased with their products. Oh, on a side note, according to SS designer's blog, Ben Zheung, the headsculpt is based on actor Ray Stevenson, who will show up soon as Firefly on the new GIjoe movie. This is great news for kitbashers everywhere... i know i will take this chance!

Thanks for the read my friend
I too am a Soldier Story fan - great company and product. Would love to be able to meet Ben someday.
Thanks for the I.D. info on the sculpt - makes sense - and I had no clue he was going to play Firefly - another creative casting choice in that franchise. Should be a winner.

Thanks much my friend I am always happy when the reviews get feedback. This one was long in the works, and I have to thank Brian for his patience while I finished it up.

I'm not sure I understand the question.
If you click the link above the picture that will direct you to Black Ops Toys Blog where the review was published. Aside for the review write up, there are 15 pics there featuring visual details of the figure along with a tutorial on how to replace the gas mask hose ( an optional ).

Ah. Somehow I missed the link. I guess my eyes were automatically drawn to the picture since I have the attention span of a jar of mayonnaise

Me too
I always do those crazy looking PS art filter pics for the title page of the review. I think they must be comic book or pulp fiction novel inspired.
I hope you got a chance to look at the regular pics. This was one of the figures that I did a little more weathering on than is my norm, so it was fun from a preparation standpoint.

Mr flip flop,
I'm currently in two minds to read your review...
For some reason this figure was an easy pass for me, but I know as soon as read your excellent review (and along with every other figure you have reviewed) I'm going to end up buying it!!
Mike thanks again for doing these reviews, they are an excellent guide for modifications and what goes where for modern noobs like myself

Thanks for the kind words I sometimes have to ask myself why I write these reviews - I then read feedback from fellow hobbyists and collectors that makes it all worthwhile
Thanks again, and best regards, Mike
