Sideshow, the exclusive North American distributor for Hot Toys, sends word that they are now accepting pre-orders for their Movie Masterpiece SUPERMAN action figure.

The figure features the likeness of the late great actor Christopher Reeve in addition to a specially-made figure stage imitating the Fortress of Solitude. As a bonus, the Sideshow Exclusive includes a Kryptonite neck chain (pictured below).

The MMS Superman figure is priced at $209.99 with FLEXPay available as a payment option. It is scheduled to ship 4th Quarter 2011.

I'm in Australia, but I was still able to order the exclusive version (allegedly US and European only). Hope my order doesn't get cancelled ...

I would give Sideshow customer service a call, but the issue is whether they will ship it to you. It's a matter of only being available from them, not so much where you live... I think.

I'm in Canada and here's the reply that Sideshow sent me:

Yes, I am sorry; at this time the Sideshow Exclusive Superman figure (item #9013901) will only be available within the continental United States and Europe.

Our website will allow you to place an order for this exclusive figure however; we cannot guarantee that we will be able to ship this to you. If your order for the exclusive figure needs to be changed to the regular version we would send you an email advising.

In other words, this sucks for us

Dammit. I hope they'll give us enough opportunity to cancel if it comes to that. I'd rather take my chances on the secondary market.

Still, sounds like there's a glimmer of hope ...

That really sucks. They should let you guys order as long as you're Sideshow customers. Don't cancel your orders until they give you a firm answer. Do you know anyone in the States you can have it shipped to? (Added cost to ship sucks anyway, though.)

I'm hoping it's just poorly worded. It probably means it'll only be *sold* in the US and Europe (like you said earlier, Darth). Sounds like not even Sideshow customer service knows for sure!

Of course, they may have worded it like that to make it sound more "exclusive".

This is a first for all those crazy restrictions they've been coming up with for exclusives ("cough" Jack Sparrow long telescope "cough")
The fact that it hasn't even sold out yet means that green rock shouldn't even be an exclusive.
I can not wait for this piece of plastic fantastic!

wonder if the cape is removable?
Will be hard to place a business suit over him if the cape is non-removable. And from pics, neck joint is non removable?
