A few years ago it was trivially easy to find these zip-up male bodysuits in red & black. Now I can only find them in white, gray, purple or green. Black suits don't have the neck collar, and I can't find them in red at all.
Has anyone here successfully dyed uniforms? I could buy a white and dye it red, since my alternatives are go go with a black suit + red sweater which might get too bulky. I have no experience with Rit dye whatsoever and would prefer not to waste $15 ruining a suit with a bad attempt.
I believe I had seen them in other colors. If I do I can link it. That said, it depends on the fabric. I dyed a shirt without issue, but pants neither took color not would have it removed.
Even if it's a synthetic, RIT DyeMore works really, really well. I've dyed clothes for OOAKs using it, and got great results. I've even dyed faded vinyl heads!
What about a 1/6 jacket? This is just the thread I needed to be honest.
I don't know how a blue (not too dark) would take to a darker red color?
Or I heard white jackets on this thread go great with dye.
Since we're on the subject of dyeing clothes/uniforms, has anyone ever tried dyeing the BLUE DML EOD suit to say Olive Drab? Obviously the specific areas that are BLUE [which are many] vs the "leather black patches. And if so how did you do it?
What are the ratios to dye small objects like that? RIT only has instructions for large items and I haven't been able to find anything online that tells the measurements to use.
This is an older thread, you may not receive a response, and could be reviving an old thread. Please consider creating a new thread.
