I had a few people ask me about these weapons
so I thought I'd post some pictures of
the progress and see if there is anymore interest in some
of the extra weapons. I know they've been done before, but
most of these are metal, so there's a big difference in
strength & realism.

First up: Eli's Mechete. This is hand made from the ground
up using real hardened steel plate and based of actual prop weapon photos.
The last one I made was in brass, which is softer and can bend.
This one in steel plate, will hold up to almost anything. It will most likely outlast all of us...:)
I have plenty of steel plate, so I will be making more than one.
These are made to fit HT hands and of course they're in 1/6 scale.
This is the first one made and has a slight weathering on it.
They will be basically OOAK, since I will be tweaking each one as
they are made.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks.

This is what I came up with so far.

The real hardened steel machete has been thinned down,
the bible is leather bound but has 2 locks instead of the 1(yes I know it's not 100% film accurate).
Shotgun is dead on based off the prop photos I have and the HK45 is damn close to film accurate.
I just need to weather the machete some more.

What do you think?

I also was putting together a little BOE starter kit
for someone. I'm not sure they will follow through on it.
I think the cost may shy them away. My cost to make is $105.
I was only adding $20 to that for labor + shipping for final cost

You get the jacket, pants, boots, glasses, backpack, shotgun, pistol, machete with
leather sheath and strap, bible with cloth wrap.

Here's what it looks like.

Not pictured: Boots & Glasses(on transparency overhead paper)

The bible comes with a cloth wrap and fits in the
packs main pocket just like in the movie.

Also the machete with leather sheath and strap is prefit to
the jacket with a standard clasp on it, so it can be opened
up without taking it off.

I think it's a fair value, seeing how it takes about 5-6 hours to
make just the machete from steel plate.

Chime in, what does everyone else think. And
if the person doesn't want it, does anyone else want it?

Let me know.

Thanks

Honestly if it's what it costs to make, you need to make some kind of profit. They really can't complain. If they don't pull through you should use it for yourself, I know I would love to make a book of eli bash, I just don't have the money.
I've already made 2 Eli figures and have 3 others for a commison job.
So, I wasn't really planning or need to make another or its parts.

And I was asked to make some more weapons availble and asked about this little starter kit. So, that is why I threw it out there.

I can always sell it on ebay if I have to. But just thought I open it
to forum members if the other person doesn't end up taking it.

Well, I wasn't satisfied enough with my bible & HK45. So I asked Witekite to send me a few of his
bibles to play with and did a new HK45, this is how they turned out.

Makes a better, more film accurate set now.

Here's the new bible close up. Added the lock and weathering to Witkites normal bible. Much closer to film accurate now.

Let me know what you think.

Thanks.

Great job Ike, I think your Book of Eli customs have really bumped you up to the next level bro. Also, what is the base weapon for the HK45??? Is it the old DML MK23 pistol??
Thanks, I try to really get as close to film accurate as I can.

I used the older HK pistol from Intoyz Armed Forces HK weapons set series 1.

I had to carve the bottom barrel notches and also carve the little lines on the
slide. I also added the leather handle wrap so hopefully the overall effect should be
pretty close to this prop HK45 picture from the film.
